Hydro Excavation Advantage

Hydro excavation is an accurate method of excavating and removing soil. It is a process that uses precise, high pressure water to cut through and break apart the ground. An air vacuum is used simultaneously to remove debris. The precision of hydro excavation allows a job to be completed without causing damage to the surrounding soil, underground pipes, lines, cables, wires and utilities. Accidents, injuries, underground utility damages, pipelines punctures and other risks are also minimized which reduces your liability and insurance costs.

Traditional excavating methods like digging with a backhoe or auger can damage utilities and/or landscaping. For example, post work back-filling a large area increases the cost of labor and materials. A well landscaped area excavated with traditional methods also requires extensive restoration. Hydro excavation offers a way to get the job done without these issues.

Hydro excavation can access many difficult areas:

  • Under buildings

  • Embankments

  • Overhead structures

  • Basements

  • Inside of buildings

  • Tight spaces that traditional excavation equipment cannot reach

  • Up against a building

  • Volatile utility areas
